On January 24th at 11pm our beautiful daughter Tirzah Madeleine was born. She was 7lbs. 7 oz and was 21 inches. Daniel and I could not believe we had a daughter; she is and was the desire of our hearts.
A little about her name: Tirzah is hebrew for "Delight", or "She is my delight". Before we were pregnant, Renee recommended the classic novel Ben Hur. Ben Hur's sister name is Tirzah and I made a mental note of finding that name really beautiful. After we knew we were pregnant, I was searching for names meaning "Delight". I didn't like any of the names I found. However, Daniel came home that very night after spending the day reading about Lew Wallace (the author of Ben Hur) and said: "What do you think about the name Tirzah?" We looked it up and rejoiced to find that it meant "Delight". We decided right then, Tirzah would be the name of our first daughter. (Tirzah is also a city in the Old Testament). And Madeleine... we thought it sounded beautiful with Tirzah and found that it meant "Magnificent". Our daughter is indeed a Magnificent Delight!
