Strawberry Fields

What a wonderful weekend we spent with Renee!  It was amazing having her here with us.  We enjoyed the Georgia sunshine with walks/runs and Tirzah's first time at the pool (she dipped her toes in and started crying instantaneously!  Like her Mama: does not like cold water at all!)  We discovered a new Farmer's Market just down the road and delighted in organic strawberries and spinach (we also found a new spot for beignets!)  We worshipped at church and spent the evening feasting with friends.  And we created memories at Adam's Farm en route to Atlanta as we picked strawberries for the first time!
Renee picked 9 pounds and Daniel, Tirzah and I came home with 10 pounds!  We had such a fun time and Tirzah enjoyed herself as well.  Big accomplishment of the week: grabbing objects... even strawberries!

We were a little intimidated with the thought of 10 pounds of strawberries.  BUT, not to worry any longer for Anna gave us the best recipe today for Strawberry Bread!  Let me share it with you below so you too can enjoy the first tastes of Spring.

Strawberry Bread
Mix the following: 3 C flour
2 C sugar
3 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
Mix the following and add to dry mixture. Mix until combined
1 1/4 C vegetable oil

1 1/4 lb chopped strawberries

(Sprinkle a little brown sugar on top for that extra touch!)
