Once again, thank you for your patience and long-suffering with this blogger who most days is side-tracked and cant seem to find the time to sit a spell and write. So much has happened in this past week of life, I know not where to begin!
To start, we found a house! It is absolutely amazing and we can not fathom that this is the house the Lord has provided for us while we live in Washington. Truly, it is gorgeous, (pictures will be coming soon, of course!). We moved in a week ago and as such do not have internet access, which counts largely as an excuse for my absence. It is in a really cute neighborhood called DuPont and we are just loving it. Our household goods arrived on Tuesday, which happened to be our second anniversary! So we celebrated by unloading boxes and treating ourselves to a delicious meal at our new favorite grocery store and deli, Marlene's. Daniel received a new Kindle and nowadays, one can always find him resting with it in hand.
Two days ago we took a break from unwrapping frames and dishes and stepped outside to enjoy the SUNSHINE (I think from now on I might always capitalize this word as the rays seem all the more beautiful when one does not see them for days...). One aspect of DuPont that we love and of which we will most assuredly take advantage: over 22 miles of walking trails! We set out on the closest trail to our house. The mist was gently fading and the ferns were all fragrance and shining emerald when all of a sudden we glimpsed it: the water! The Sound! Glory! We did not even have the foggiest idea we were so close to the water and oh how beautiful it was. Our appetite for more of it's beauty was whetted and we strode further along and deeper in to get closer. Happening upon one winding path we came to the edge of a drop off and beheld a panoramic view of the water. Absolutely breathtaking! And off to the right, a rock housed numerous humming and barking seals! What a welcome to the beautiful Northwest!
As it is now Christmas Eve, we find ourselves in Vancouver, Canada with our family. Michael and Danae have opened their home to we three and also my Mom and Dad. With warm gingerbread, freshly whipped cream and hot cider they welcomed us to this beautiful country and what a treat each moment has been together. Fondue is on the menu for an early meal together this evening before walking to worship and welcome our newborn King.
May you and your family be warm and cozy this Christmas Eve, celebrating with all the World the arrival of our Saviour. Indeed there is Joy in this World for He has come and is still Immanuel, God with us.
Amen
Merry Christmas! It is so great to hear from you and know that you have found a home to love! We will be there in a few short weeks and can't wait to see you all!
