LOVING that the first month of deployment is done! One month down: praises resound!!
LOVING these gifts from the fourth week of deployment, that Tirzah and I wrote on our chain link (sorry I didn't post these yesterday... and I will soon get pics of the garden. It has been too rainy for the camera!):
Tuesday: Mary Nease and all the children bringing lunch and staying fot the afternoon.
Wednesday: Twirling and running through the grass with our daughter
Thursday: Going in the new Princess Pool in the backyard and eating the first watermelon of the season!
Friday: Spending the whole morning unexpectedly with Lucy & Alison
Saturday: His call!
Sunday: Reading to her today, at several different times, in his green chair
Monday: It rained all day but tonight it was brilliantly clear and we went for a beautiful walk to the bluff- with eagles and a cool breeze- perfection!
LOVING that it is my husband's birthday today!! Thinking of him all the day long has been the best part of my day.
LOVING green tea: morning, noon, and right now
LOVING reading, reading, and more reading! I am on the 6th book of the Thoene series, and I CAN not put it down. It actually might be good that he is away while I am reading this series. . . if he were here I might have been neglecting him to get lost in this book
LOVING celebrating his birthday with his daughter: I treated myself to a soy latte from Starbucks and the Little Missus was treated to a cake pop. She loved it: I think she thought it was her birthday again!
LOVING delighting in making and eating risotto with green beans, lemon, and walnuts. I think it was a bit too refined for Tirzah's palette, but oh my Mama enjoyed it! I used the recipe from this site, but added half a lemon and also walnut pieces in the end and it really made it delicious!
LOVING Tirzah in her pool. These pictures were taken last week, when it was a bit warmer and the sun was shining. I can't wait to do this all summer with her: Mama loving her from the lounge chair and Tirzah just splashing away to her heart's content.
LOVING that Renee has a blog now!! Check it out: reneemshear@blogspot.com
LOVING getting packages two days in a row. Thank you, Ladies.
LOVING the sunset now as I write away
LOVING Dinner Club round two last night: a pizza party! It was most wonderful. Each of the ladies brought their favorite pizza toppings and we kept enjoying pizza after pizza. Our first one was just cheese, for the littler ones to enjoy. While we enjoyed that, we decorated another (this one was perhaps my favorite): sauce and then a layer of spinach, caramelized onions and roasted garlic, cheeses, and sun-dried tomatoes on top. Absolutely amazing! One of my favorite aspects of the evening: just sliding the pizza right onto the island and cutting it right on the countertop. It was so informal and casual: ladies were just standing around and would grab a piece of pizza, chat, sip their freshly made mint mojitos, and chat some more. A perfect Ladies night!
LOVING the smell of calendula leaves drying in the cupboard
LOVING that he called on Saturday. LOVING that he is such a hero: caught in two firefights already and by the grace of God, kept his calm and confident gift of leadership
LOVING these gifts that are endless and all around, in every moment, if we make all our senses alive and aware:
173. A friend Brianna, at the park, to play with Tirzah
174. That Tirzah was so good while I was on the phone with her daddy
176. Going to be at 9:00 on a Saturday evening
177. Singing Old McDonald in the car-ride home
178. Fog and rain in the early morning
179. Walking in the rain- indeed it was so healing!
180. The smell of the forest when it rains
181. Fresh homemade granola for breakfast
185. Singing He's got the Whole World in His hands and oh how calming it was for both of our tender hearts.
187. The clear moments in the afternoon
188. Mail to open!
193. The gift of a birds nest for decoration: with 3 blue speckled eggs! I have been wanting this for almost a year now! Truly, ever since I read One Thousand Gifts, I have wanted one to decorate with, and I received one in the mail today from sweet Mrs. Watkins. What a gift!
Always always always I am LOVING my best friend and my hero, Daniel Roberts Shear born this day, 24 years ago
