It has already become a theme word of our visit: that idea of belonging and being connected with one another. The harmony that is created in sharing and being a part of another's life.
Fellowship. Family. Community.
How our relationships were created to be: reflecting the character of the Triune God.
Fellowship. It's what Greg, Marlene, Tirzah, and I have been doing this first day of their stay. Fellowshipping around the table sharing Chicken Tortilla Soup last night and popcorn for dessert after church, baked oatmeal this morning, and soon to be pulled pork sandwiches. Time together spent in worship yesterday evening at church and also this morning as we gloried in God's creation at the edge of the Puget Sound. Moments together outside as the Washington Spring hits its pinnacle: walking, gardening, riding bikes.
Just such moments are food for the soul, provision which leads to thanksgiving, Manna from Heaven.
Indeed, I have seen Him provide through
the arrival of our family
sunshine to break the clouds
sweet and glorious rest
good books to read
protection
and SEVERAL phone calls from our Soldier! Indeed, in the past week I have talked to my husband 4 times: an absolute miracle. I received a midnight phone call early Saturday morning and then we received a call from him yesterday, just as we stepped into our home after picking up Greg and Marlene from the airport. He is doing well and is so thankful for all the prayer he and his platoon have received. He is thankful for moments to think of home and is so thankful for packages! He and his platoon have just moved from their remote location, but for 3 1/2 weeks they ate on the Army issued food of MREs. He is loving his platoon and says that they are working well together, just like a family. And he is so thankful for his Platoon Sergent and the unity they have together in their leadership and also for his sergent's sense of humor.
The greatest and most wonderful provision of the Lord that I have beheld in these past days:
The answered prayers over Daniel's platoon. Truly, Battalion wide (which is 9 platoons), Daniel's platoon is the only one to have no injuries or casualties!!!
Can you even believe what God has done for him and for his men?
Thank you, oh thank you for your faithful and continuous prayers concerning my husband! We serve a mighty and faithful God and He alone has delivered them and He alone will get the glory.
Amen
