Sweet Tirzah

Yesterday evening I felt so sick.

We returned home from the market with our good friends, and I had felt a little sick all day, but for sure after the market I felt so nauseous.  I grabbed a pillow and a blanket and simply curled into the fetal position, right on the floor by the kitchen table.

Tirzah was busy stacking her blocks, her new favorite pastime, and I was so grateful to the Lord that she was able to play by herself, quietly and well, for that hour or so that I was on the ground.

I always cry when I am sick: I absolutely hate being sick.  So of course I was shedding those silent tears and just missing my husband dreadfully.  Tirzah made me weep even harder.  Not over self-pity because of my sickness, but because she is the sweetest little girl in the world.  I am know I am biased, but I can't possibly imagine a more compassionate little one a half year old.

She smiled at me when I laid down with my head on the pillow.  And it was almost like she knew she needed to play by herself.  I laid down close, so I could exclaim over her 8 blocks high towers.  And when I sat up to get a block for her, she came over and patted the pillow like almost telling me, "Mama, lay down.  You need to rest."  At one moment, she came over and knelt down by my face, giggling and trying to make me laugh.  She bent down and kissed my forehead and then just went on her merry way.  Oh how I cried those silent tears even harder!  She is the sweetest.

I managed to get her in bed and then walk up the street to get some ginger tea and crystalized ginger from the neighbors.  After a shower, I too, managed to crawl in bed and get a long night's rest.  Today, praise the Lord, I am feeling so much better and am able to eat again!

Needless to say, I had not the strength to write last night about What I'm Loving Wednesday, so let me share a bit now, of what this beautiful daughter and her Mama have been LOVING:

Tirzah is absolutely LOVING these blocks!  We actually bought them because I am doing a project with them, which I can't exactly share. . .  (the recipients of these are blog readers too!), but here is the link for the idea.  But Tirzah has attached herself to these blocks.  First she helped me paint them, and now she spends most of her time at home here, stacking them and re-stacking them.

LOVING the sunshine these past days

LOVING preparing a package for my husband

LOVING that my brother is coming in tomorrow to spend the weekend with us!

LOVING these videos of sweet Tirzah.  Daniel, Lovie, I hope you enjoy these!  I took these just for you. . .

LOVING Tirzah just creating and cooking away.  She had coconut, a little sugar, oats, and water and played and "baked" for minutes on end.  It was really fun to see her creative side and her imagination!

Always, always, always, and probably the most ever this day, I am LOVING my husband, who is away, faithfully serving
