LOVING the sunshine today! It has been on the colder side here in Washington, unlike the rest of the country! But even yesterday it was in the fifties for a large part of the morning! But today, gorgeous and 75 without a cloud in the sky. How thankful I am for that sun! Especially on today, the first day just Tirzah and I, the first day getting back into our rhythms and routines.
LOVING a run to the park this morning, my first P90X workout, (have you ever heard of those workouts or done one?! I could only do half of the hour long workout and I think my lower body, might not be able to function in the morning!!) and a beautiful bike-ride to downtown DuPont.
LOVING riding the bike with my new bike basket!
LOVING the surprise of the Fourth of July fair in downtown! Tirzah and I were going downtown for a bottle of wine (for Mama to take to her girls hangout tonight) and a stop at the park for Little One. What a surprise we had at the park: their was a mini-fair! We arrived just as it was finishing up, but we still got to see the ponies and 8 Chihuahua puppies!
LOVING flowers from our garden as a center-piece
LOVING the grace of the Lord today, for I have truly seen it all around us as we enter into this next stretch of "alone" time: the sun, the breeze, the song of our birds, that she has taken two long naps (that is the first time since we have been home from Hawaii! Over a week and this is the day she does take two: just a gift from the Lord.
LOVING talking with Daniel on Sunday! He is doing really really well. He has received several packages which have buoyed his spirits and of which we both are so thankful. Thank you for thinking of him! He and his platoon continue to work really well together and the Lord has continued to give them great success in their missions. He said he is continually caked with dirt, what they call "moon dust" covers everything. He laughed when he talked of the living conditions: sleeping underneath the stars, scorpions all over, Afghani hedgehogs running around, dust and dirt everywhere. . . but he also said he LOVED it and he wouldn't have it any other way for this is exactly how he imagined combat. He has been able to talk of things of the Lord with several of his guys, as well as pray on two different occasions. A real booster to his morale was the arrival of a few pieces of gym equipment; he and the soldiers are able to get a lift in now, on most days, which has been such a motivator and a great stress reliever. He was so thankful for that!
LOVING the baby swallows right out our front window! We returned from Hawaii and five birdies had hatched. They are down to four now, but what a joy it is to watch them. I give such credit to that Mama bird because she is flying non-stop all the day long!
LOVING this new "fort" that we created with Marlene and Greg. We pushed the two different sections of the couch apart and placed a blanket across. And then we moved the buffet over so that one of the compartments without a back lined up with the tunnel! I have kept it like this for several days and what a joy it is to run around with her and chase her. We all fit through it! Tirzah, Mama, Marlene, and even Greg!

Sweeties, What joy to be together in Hawaii. Sometimes I am just overwhelmed at the goodness of God and the gifts He gives to me. My favorite picture is the one of Admiral Dear Love coming through the fort and Tirzah Delight with her hands on her hips. Love it to pieces. You are all precious to us. We will wait until Meriwether gets home to send package to Daniel. Praying, praying... We love you.
