Absolutely amazing!! We are a family again!! after 9 days apart, the Shears Three finds themselves together. How good it is! but how wonderfully restoring were the moments we spent apart. Daniel and I loved our time: such long moments of deep rest and long laughter; so many mornings of sleeping in and breakfast out; coffee shops where we lingered for hours, reading and ordering different treats, maybe two or three times. So many moments out enjoying the Pacific Northwest. We journeyed to Vashon Island and the Olympic Peninsula. We hiked and found a private cove where we rested and read. We hiked 9 miles to find whales, coyotes, otters, eagles, and a beached whale. It has been glorious. Gift after blessed gift which we neither deserve nor take for granted.
The 2 rules of our time together:
Honesty. You have to be honest with how you want to spend the time.
Don't talk about tomorrow until after dinner. Just enjoy the now.
Maybe those are good rules to keep for every day?
