Day 2

Day 2 of 19 (First Phase)
I think the day began really early this morning for Daniel.  He needed to complete his Land Navigation test this morning.  They begin in the darkness of night and have 4 hours, I believe, to find 5 different points.  They are not allowed to talk or use any form of lighting to find the points, other than when laying on their bellies studying their maps.  Daniel said that the points are in thickets so deep that you have to be right on your  to find the point.  But this is one of Daniel's strong points, so I know he will do well!
It seems that the rest of the day they will be tested on their familiarization of machine guns.  They are tested on their ability to "clear, load, fire, and reduce stoppage" on the machine guns.  "Secondly, he will have 3 minutes to disassemble each machine gun, and 3 minutes to reassemble each machine gun. This is a possible NO-GO event."
Tomorrow morning is the 12 mile road march.  They will begin in the early hours, after 4 hours of sleep, with a 50 pound ruck sack on their back.  They have 3 hours to finish this course.  Please pray for physical protection for Daniel, and also against heat stroke/exhaustion for all the men, as this has been a large issue during this incredible summer heat.
