Well we have been enjoying the delights of Cocoa Beach these past few days. We met up with Greg and Marlene and have been vacationing away. Our days have consisted of runs along the beach in the morning, moments with our coffee mugs, giggling with Tirzah and all her new discoveries, playing Bananagrams, eating ice cream, celebrating Grandmother's birthday along with Greg and Marlene's wedding anniversary, and taking Tirzah to the beach, which she loved this time!! Sweet moments they have been with all of us here together. Yet Daniel's absence is always known and felt. Praise the Lord: we made it through the first week! Here is a little peek into what his days are like:
"These days are your first graded patrols. These missions will all begin with the Chain of Command receiving the Order in the morning and end once you link up with your trucks to move back to Camp Darby. The 2 missions you will conduct for these patrols will be either a recon or an ambush. The big areas of focus will be the terrain model, briefing boards, land navigation for movement... accountability, and cleanliness check of all squad equipment. The day begins at 5 am when they receive the mission, and bed time is at 2 am."
