Day 4 & 5

Day 4 and 5 of 19 (Phase One)

Today, Daniel did his first Airborne Jump of Ranger School.  He will complete his second jump during Phase Three in Florida.  Also "at some point in this day, you will receive a penicillin shot that you will never forget."... does that mean it will really hurt or that it is in his rear end??!  They will be traveling to Camp Darby where the remainder of Phase One will be spent.  Later tonight he is receiving classes on OPORD (remember OPORD week during IBOLC?)

Tomorrow, Day 5 consists of the "first big test at Camp Darby.  It will be conducted before noon.  The Darby Queen or DQ is an obstacle course consisting of over 20 obstacles.  You will execute the course in a buddy team, but complete the obstacles individually.  Be sure to do your best on each obstacle.  Later this day, you will receive classes, complete a practical exercise... and do a practice OPORD.

Daniel will be receiving around 4 hours of sleep these next nights.  And unfortunately for Daniel, no more hot meals until the last day of this phase... just the MRE's, (hopefully 2 every day, but maybe just 1)
