LOVING the weather today. We woke up to heavy rain, which just sounded lovely. The wind has been rustling through the trees and it just gives life to the whole body. Ever few minutes or so the sun will pop out in all it's brilliant glory. But it looks as if the afternoon will be the coziest of overcast days. I am giddy with the thought of pumpkin spice tea and finishing One Thousand Gifts.
LOVING baking pumpkin bread with Tirzah this morning. She LOVED watching the red Kitchen Aid go round and round and round. And like her Mama, I think she will be a "batter" girl...
(sadly, my pumpkin bread did not turn out! But I am thankful for the aroma it left within the walls of our home)
LOVING that Daniel was supposed to have an all-day detail with Holding Company and he just texted that he doesn't have to go!
LOVING the anticipation of pecan picking when Little One wakes. I am hoping that this mighty wind has blown some nuts and they will be like manna, scattered all around for us to gather.
LOVING One Thousand Gifts. I am just about to finish, but I absolutely LOVE what I read yesterday:
"God calls me to do thanks. To give the thanks away. The thanks-giving might literally become thanks-living. That our lives become the very blessings we have received.
I am blessed. I can bless. Imagine! I could let Him make me the gift!
I could be the joy!
I scour pots and grin silly...This life of washing dishes, of domestic routine, it can be something wholly different. This life of rote work, it is itself public work, a public serving-even this scrubbing of pans- and thus, if done unto God, the mudane work can become the living liturgy of the Last Supper. I could become the blessing. I rinse pots and sing it softly, "This is my song of thanks to You..."
therefore... LOVING freshly polished wood furniture.
Tirzah is LOVING babbling
Daniel is LOVING these last few days before RSLC begins
Always, I am LOVING my best friend, my laughter, my Soldier, and my husband
