RSLC

A word from our hero:

"If you have never lived with someone who makes you feel loved and respected every moment of the day... Give it a try. I guarantee you will not turn back! Fawn mentioned yesterday that I am packing for my next course. This opportunity popped up shortly after Ranger School  through the company I am attached to now. RSLC (Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leader's Course) is a 26 day course that is oft referred to as the '4th phase of Ranger School'.  It will be as physically demanding as Ranger School, but will pose an increased mental challenge. People say that there are two types of Rangers: smart Rangers and strong Rangers. Well, I certainly am not a smart Ranger, so this course will be challenge... In short, this course teaches individuals how to infiltrate enemy territory, stay hidden, gather intelligence, report it to the battlefield commander, and exfiltrate.

A thorough description of the course can be found at this link:http://www.benning.army.mil/infantry/rtb/RSLC.html

This is called SPIES (an exfiltration technique) and is what I am most looking forward to at RSLC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hra8tkO3W34

Unlike Ranger School, this course is referred to as a 'gentleman's course.' I will be able to have my cellphone and a laptop. In addition, on the days we are not on mission, Fawn, Tirzah and I will be able to spend the evenings together. This is a blessing and an answer to prayer from the Lord. Thank you all for your prayers for this little family and for following our lives on the blog."
