How good it feels to be back, writing again. Daniel just asked if the words are coming easily... please forgive both the time away and the rustiness that my fingers feel over these keys! This is just a little post, to update just a bit upon our Westward journey. Promises of pictures and more thoughts to come as we settle into our new home!
It has been a whirlwind of events these past days. The roads traveled have led us from Virginia to Illinois and from Illinois to Colorado.
The roads led us along paths of pain and paths of healing: we stayed by her side as Marlene was nursed back to health after her surgery. The roads led us along paths of farewells: we bid adieu to Raphine and the house that is always open, to continue our travel through the winding roads of West Virginia. The roads led us along paths of blissful reunion: we gathered with friends of old in cozy Wheaton. The roads led us along paths of celebration: the arrival and sweet life of baby Everly, born to our friends Jeff & Jori. The roads led us along family paths: the family gathered together around the hearth both in Virginia and now here, in Colorado.
Our hearts have strayed, yes strayed, to paths of uncertainty. But always, always our hearts have been led upon paths of faithfulness and paths of peace.
At times I have felt like a Lily, uprooted and wilting. But always praying for readiness to bloom where I am planted.
Tomorrow and the next day our journey will begin it's final stretch from Colorado to Washington. We will travel through Salt Lake City, Boise, Portland, and then on to Seattle. Our hearts are excited and grateful: what an adventure to see what the Lord has in store for the Shear Family 3!
It is so good to see your post! I hope your time with family and travels have been well. It looks like we will be joining you all sooner rather than later (YAY)!
