It's a rainy day today.  Overcast and a constant drizzle hitting the clear windows.

But it's also a black dress, jeans, and red rain boot day.  Do you ever have those days?  Days you just want to be wearing a dress.  Days you just have to wear those favorite boots.  Yes, today is a day such as that and I am so thankful for today.

I am also thankful for your patience with me, dear Reader, as I took a short break from this blog with all the adventures and visitors that have been buzzing around the 3 Shears.  Sweet  Nae Nae, as we have taught Tirzah to call her Auntie, is here and what a wonderful past few days we have had together.

Although today is not Wednesday but yet another Thursday for which to give thanks, my heart's desire is to share with you what we have been LOVING here over these past days.  Allow me to share and show you. . .

SUNSHINE!  Renee brought the sweet rays of life with her when she landed on Thursday night. Four full days of sunshine followed after and how refreshing it was to our souls!  We came to life beneath it's rays: spending splendid moments, both morning and afternoon moments at the park, moments toiling in the soil as we weeded the back trim in preparation of our garden, moments exploring the cities of Olympia and Seattle, moments journeying together through the paths of nature that wind and wind to endless treasures.

Oh the lovely daffodils!  Or as Renee and her class say: "Daffy Down Dilly"!  It was hard to capture their splendor as they lined the roofs all along the market's path

Sunshine brought life to our souls and also those of our little seedlings!  O greatest joy!  We have pumpkin sprouts and Delicata honey-boat squash sprouts, basil sprouts, cantaloupe sprouts, chamomile sprouts as well as carrot and chive sprouts!  I find such purpose and delight in tending to these little lives: checking the soil and moving them throughout the house in search of sweet rays of life.  I have even shared my heating pad with them during the early morning hours.

We have taken such delight in the beauty and aroma of the cherry blossoms.  They line the streets and offer such  delight!

What beauty in our own yard too!  A cherry blossom and a pussy willow right next to one another

Last evening was our small group with church and it was our turn to bring the treats.  Renee shared a delicious homemade Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup recipe!  My oh my they were beautiful in their messiness and in their delicacy!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups (makes 12 large)

Prepare muffin tins by dabbing a bit of oil in each tin and spreading it up the sides and all around (a mini muffin tin works perfect as well!)

1/2 bag dark chocolate chips (we will use the other half for the top layer!)
Melt in a sauce pan over low heat and be careful not to burn!
Once melted, place a dollup (about 1 t) in each muffin tin and spread around the bottom and also up the sides of each tin.
Allow to chill in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes or until chocolate has hardened.

Combine:
1 C peanut butter (creamy)
1/4 C confectioners sugar
1 t (or more to taste) salt
Place a dollup (about 1 t) in each of the tins, making a second layer on top of the chocolate.

Melt the second half of the chocolate over low heat and add a little dollup (almost 1 t) to each tin and spread gently to create the top layer of chocolate.
Allow to chill and harden in the refrigerator for 30 minutes then pop each chocolate treat out to enjoy!

We have enjoyed Tirzah immensely over these days: her precious, daring, and sweet countenance grows every day and what a joy it is to behold the little girl she is becoming.  She is even more adorable in her "Pebbles" outfit of yesterday!

Lastly, we have enjoyed adventuring together: at home and also out of the home.  At home yesterday we cut 4 inches of Reness hair to create a new style for her!  I can not believe she trusted me with her hair, but as I said: "it always grows back!"  So she trusted me, with buzzer in hand, she trusted me with her new look.  Thanks to You Tube and a clip it worked perfectly!  An angled bob cut!
