Just a taste

We dropped Marlene, or as Tirzah lovingly calls her, Yoyo, off at the airport early this afternoon after a whirlwind of a week!  Truly, as we reflect back upon our time together, it is almost impossible to recall and imagine all that transpired through the days!  The days were so full; as Marlene said many a time, "we could not have fit one more thing to this day!" The days were full of love and laughter, service, homesteading, animals, play, and delicious food.  Here is just a tast of our first day together!

This is Tirzah on our way to the Run to Remember.  We have only participated in one other Run to Remember over Memorial Day weekend, but this group meets ever Saturday at a park in DuPont and they run.  To remember.  We gathered around and read aloud the 66 names of the soldiers that have lost their lives in this war on terror.  The 66 that have lost their lives over that very weekend, the 26,27 and 28th of October.  We had a moment of silence and a prayer, and then the running began.  I ran for Cpt. Klein, Daniel's Company Commander while Marlene ran for SSG Wess who was also hurt in this last incident.  And Tirzah ran to represent her 1LT Daddy.

Now, the moments after the run will be extremely hard to convey, for they might just be the most hilarious moments which I have ever lived.  There we were.  Marlene, Tirzah, our friend Crystal and her daughter Cova, and I.  We had finished running and Marlene had been playing with Tirzah and another little boy on the slides.  Now, this slide that we are talking about isn't just a little toddler slide.  No no.  It is a 2 story slide that has a little twist right in the middle.  So imagine with me, this slide, this 2 story slide completely wet.  And now imagine this slide, with Tirzah on Marlene's lap, with Marlene wearing her super slippery running shorts.

Yeah.  They flew.

I tried to warn them before they took off, but before I knew it they had flown off the slide, Marlene with her legs parallel to the ground and Tirzah perched on top.  And they flew.  And created a huge hole in the wood chips where they landed.

I was absolutely doubled-over in laughter up at the top of this tower.  Absolutely hilarious.

So Tirzah climbs back up to go down again, and she is wearing normal sweat pants so I think that the slide won't be half as slippery for her.  Well. . . not so much.  She flew too!  Crystal and Marlene made it just in time to pick her up off the ground.

And so there I was, still at the top of this tower, my pride just not understanding how these people can't seem to conquer this slide!  So there I go, with my black yoga pants, thinking that I will be able to calmly and gracefully stop myself once I get to the bottom of the slide.

Yeah.  I flew too!  And that was when Tirzah began to cry.  Seeing her Mama fly through the air off of 2 story slide.  I probably would have cried too if I had seen myself; although I would have cried with laughter at how absolutely ridiculous I looked!

Opening the absolutely BEST package from the Watkins!  A tea party in a box!  Thank you Thank you!!

And then. . . tea time!

and tea time with Yoyo. . . never a dull moment!

Grocery shopping

Talking with Papa. . . pretend talking :)

Talking Mr. Bear out for a little stroll.  And she just sat out on the front porch for minutes on end, watching for a  "choo choo" and taking in the early evening fog.

Always thinking about the potty training!
