Dreaming of Whidbey

How has the Lord provided abundantly for you this day?

Hmmmm.  For me?

Beautiful sunshine in between dark clouds of rain

Parenting together, together, with my husband: such a delight!

Time of rest, even now.  Daniel to my right reading Sea of Glory, and my delight in The Pilgrim's Inn.

A date night for Daniel and I to a Brazilian Steakhouse tonight.  Glory!

And every memory of the wonderful weekend spent with family, celebrating all that God did, is doing, and will continue to do with this season of deployment:

First annual Family Talent Show! (what a joyous celebration, full of laughter but also of heartfelt tears.  So beautiful)

In order of appearance:

Tirzah: ABC's and counting to 13!
Greg: Juggling!
Renee: her own beautifully written prayer based upon the Valley of Vision prayers
Danae: dramatic recitation of "To live in the mercy of God" by Denise Levertov
Marlene: guess how many photo albums she has?!  91!  And a sharing of our family play from Christmas
Daniel and Fawn: singing Traveling Soldier by the Dixie Chicks
Michael: a poem: "The World is Charged with the Grandeur of God" by Gerard Manley Hopkins, as well as a song from Les Miserables
Mike and Laurie: a hilarious skit enacting a day in the life of my mother's gourmet food business: Timber Peaks Gourmet

The ladies waiting for the next act

Other wonderful memories include:
A tea party in celebration of Tirzah's birthday
Delicious gourmet food for both breakfast and dinner
The ferry ride on that gorgeous Friday
The excitement of pulling up to the house for the first time
A Pacific Northwest meal with dungeness crab appetizer and fresh caught salmon
Taking long walks together
Going in the boat for short rides
Having a fire going all the day long
Playing Chinese ping-pong. . . an absolute riot!
and playing Garbage all together as a family. . . (perhaps my favorite memory!)
A polar plunge for Daniel and I. . . and then racing back to the hot tub!
Fresh juice from our juicer each morn

This was Dad's "go to" move!

Celebrating Tirzah's birthday

Fresh salmon, caught that morn, at Pike Place!

Delicious crab!
