LOVING this sunshine. Days upon days igorgeous sun that I will not take for granted for this is not normal. Riding bikes with Little One all over town. Splashing in the fountains in the heat of the day. Tirzah wore her swim suit all the day long. Stopping at the fruit stand up the street to fill our baskets with strawberries and grapes. How she took that pear and started eating it without me even knowing!
LOVING trees. Have you ever truly studied a tree?? They are magnificent! LOVE their strength. How we can climb and swing without causing them to tilt. LOVE how Daniel made a swing in the pasture tree for us. How swinging is now a part of our morning routine: feed the chickens, feed the pigs, and swing. When the fresh morning air fills our faces and lungs and blows our hair. How she sits on my lap to swing: both of us all pajamas and boots. Watching them climb the tree together and getting glimpses of what my husband must have been like as a young boy.
LOVING all things do it yourself in the kitchen. Homemade elderflower champagne. Bubbles baby! Foraging stinging nettles from the back woods and making a soup that everyone enjoyed. LOVING dinner out in the pasture. Purple table cloth and citronella scents. Shaded by the pear tree in the sunset light.
LOVING our new piano. Trash as treasure. Beauty is free. Gathering as a family for worship each night now around the piano. Both of us playing together the hymn of the month: Jesus Paid it All. Hearing her say she wants to go play the "banano".
LOVING friends over for a lunch date. Harvesting kale and parsley to put over the spread. Honey as her new favorite treat. The new sounds of our life: all those snorts and all them clucks.
