A day to proclaim His faithful provision.

Thank you to everyone who sent love and encouragement and support my way after my post last week detailing what a hard time I was having!  Thank you so much for your love; it means the world to our family!  Your care is a provision in and of itself, so thank you again!

What a beautiful and wonderful week we had with family for Thanksgiving!  Provisions abounded!

Laughter
Sunshine!  Washington sunshine!
Walks
DOWNTON ABBEY
A day of fishing for my Dad! (3 huge steelhead fish caught!)
Gathered together around the table
Cup after cup of tea, coffee, and cocoa served
Run to Remember as a family
Health. . . after a day of sickness for Mom and Michael
Thanksgiving skype date with Daniel

(please be patient with the pictures. . . I am running into a bit of trouble uploading them!)

It was a wonderful time together.

And I have felt such a provision of peace last night, after saying goodbye to my family, and also this whole day.  Today marks the beginning of a two week stretch of alone time and if we can just make it through these weeks. . . we are pretty much DONE with deployment.  Because, after two weeks we travel to be with Daniel's family and then when we return home, Daniel returns so soon!  So, one day down, only a few more in this, our last big hurdle of deployment!  Praise the Lord!

Even so, it is always so hard to be the ones left behind, the ones in the quiet of the house when for the past week it has been bustling with family and activities and love.  But, once again, He provided such peace.  What a gift to have church to attend last night right after taking my parents to the airpot.  And today, what a provision of hope and beauty: Tirzah and I got our Christmas tree!  Oh how she LOVED absolutely everything about this afternoon!  The music, the tree, the lights!  Oh the lights.  And Oh the ornaments!  I think that might just be her new favorite pastime: hanging ornaments!

I am so thankful for the peace and the truth that yes, we are almost done!

  2. Fawn,
I see that you like Downton....we do too! But I must tell you about another BBC show that we LOVE even more than Downton. I don't know if you could get it (you probably would have to order it or we get it off of Apple TV). It is called Lark Rise to Candleford, and it is fabulous. A bit Downton like, but without all the soap-operaishness of DA. We watched one (sometimes two...I am not going to lie) episodes many nights until we finished, and now MM and I are re-watching. See if you can put your hands on it; it will help you get through the next two weeks, I promise. Truly something to look forward to, and Marlene and Renee would love it too.

  3. Actually, I just looked, and you can purchase it on Amazon. You will not be sorry. You will rewatch over and over. Buy it!! And just so you know, I have never been like this about any television show, so trust me.

  4. Fawn,
Glad you are thinking of getting it. Season one is fantastic, but they get better, and by the end of season 3, we were so sad that the Lark Rise to Candleford journey was over. Then we found out there is a short (6 episode) fourth season, so we are going to get that soon:) Please share with me after you watch it since I have yet to know anyone else who has!

    1. Miss Melinda!
I have watched the first episode and LOVED it!! And Renee is bringing all the seasons from the Wheaton Library for us to watch together ! We can't wait for this break, as Renee says: "Candleford, nails, TIRZAH, eating, laughing!" Just perfect! She has loved all the seasons and can't wait to watch them again! Thanks for the recommendation.. that is what you can find us doing:)
